About the Photographer

Ever since the first Daguerreotype camera, photography has meant more than recording the exact details of a scene. The Camera, to me, has always transcended mere imagery by allowing us to capture mood and feeling. The purest may talk about light, composition, and a dozen other technical “rules” – but in my work, I strive not to replicate the details in what I see but rather to use the camera as an instrument to capture and share the complexity of what I feel: the bleak ruin of Chernobyl, the mysticism of Southeast Asia and the vibrant pulse of New York.
